Question #1:
I have a houseful of teens. Polite way to ask them to stop pillaging the fridge?
Both my girls constantly have one or more friends here. While I think it's fantastic that everyone feels at home, they really tear through the food, often without asking...and sometimes things that I had planned on using for entire meals are eaten as snacks. Example: a one pound log of fresh mozzarella which was slated for making gourmet pizza...poof! Eaten, gone without a trace. This morning I was offered a sliver of the cheese danish I had bought for myself, on further investigation, half of it is already gone. I'm a bit peeved!Short of demanding child support from their parents, how can I let these kids stay and still have food in the house?
I'm on a budget! Also, I don't want to make them feel like I'm singling anyone out or calling them pigs.
It's also irritating because I buy really good food and they nom through it like it's potato chips! It's meant to be eaten in much smaller portions.
Question #2:
Sister won't give a single compliment to my cooking?
Starting earlier this year, my sister has been staying at my place, usually I do all the housework including the cooking, while she spends most of her time doing her own business (a med student and also a heavy sleeper), this became an issue late, not only she shown off the 'I don't care' attitude about how hard I've taken care of the house and it's occupants, she also stated that she hates my cooking, which is very insulting! since she's able to eat them without choking. I'm not implying myself as a maverick cook, but I guess I'm a decent one, and it was proven numerous times when some relatives came to visit me said that my cooking is surprisingly good, let me give you an example:Yesterday morning I cooked several dishes enough for us to eat all day, she came home at the afternoon with some take-away food, very forgivable since she didn't really know that I planned to cook that day, but later that night she went out again and came home with some fast food. I stored the food on the fridge so we can eat them for today's breakfast. But this morning she went out again and came home telling me that she has already eaten outside, and said that she can't eat my cooking because they didn't suit her taste, she said they're bland, too traditional, and (I tasted them and they're NOT!!), basically she didn't like the kind of dish I made. and she planned to cook for herself, so after destroying almost half of the kitchen, she tasted her own cooking and express how delicious her cooking was in an extremely exaggerating manner like "OMG IT TASTES SOOO GOOOD!!!", I tasted it a bit and her cooking was undeniably.laughable, half cooked vegs, very dried up, not to mention 100% sure she forgot the salt, this came from someone who told that my cooking was bland!
Cooking is my hobby and all I want to do is to keep both of us healthy with home-cooked meal, but I couldn't take her ignorance and enormous ego, she just doesn't bother to show a bit of gratitude that I tire myself soooo much juggling between my hectic job and running the errands, while she does nothing, what should I do? I'm ready to explode right now!
Or am I the one who's hypersensitive?
Sorry for the incoherent rant, today has been very emotional for me... my sister was indeed too spoiled for her own good!
Question #3:
I need names for a trio of popular girls!!!?
The names can't be like Lindsay or anything cliche like that. they have to be original. All three of them are rich and beautiful.First Girl: The leader and queen bee. She's afraid of losing her title to the second girl. She's actually really nice, but acts mean and cruel. She has a heart-shaped face, framed by long pale blonde hair, with big sparkly blue eyes, tanned skin, rosy cheeks, and a perfect, yet fake, ski-slope nose.
Second Girl: The second-in-command and the first girl's right hand woman, she's fierce, witty, obnoxious, and rude. Her dad is a senator and she often uses this to get free meals or clothes. Her mother often cheats on her father, something the girl is aware of. The girl is often very stressed and has bulimia. She's almost 5'11" with glossy, layered chestnut-brown hair, fiery hazel eyes, and overly plumped lips. She moves with sophistication and class.
Third Girl: The third girl, often forgotten by her best friends, who treat her more like a prop in their plans than an actual friend. She is always quiet and shy and is afraid of being friendless. She expresses herself through her artwork, something her friends often trash. When she was young, her mother died. Now she lives with her dad, cruel French stepmother, and annoying, bossy, and arrogant older stepsisters. Barely 5'4" and thinner than thin, with waist-length, thick, dark red waves, eyes the color of melted chocolate, and freckled paper-white skin.

Question #9:
Do you think I am underweight?
I am 14 years old and I will be turning 15 in about 6 months.I'm a Freshman (9th grader) in high school in Arizona.
I do cheer and I practice every morning (run, stretch, and do what the coach has planned). We stunt, cheer, chant, and dance. We are professional (KINDA).
I am 5 feet excactly, but I might be 5"1 since I haven't measured in a while. I am 92-93 pounds on an empty stomach and 94 pounds on a full stomach. I have 34A breasts and a "normal" butt. I've never had my period ever, but for about 6 months I've had this white stuff of my underwear.
Do you think I am underweight?
What can I do to gain weight under my circumstances?
What should I avoid doing in order not to lose weight?
I heard drinking lots of milk helps, does it work?
I try to eat regularly and sometimes I totally pig out. My mom says I eat like a horse, but that's cause we never have any "munchies" or snacks around. I eat all the main meals, sometimes I have to skip breakfast because I have to do so much in the morning and only have 1 hour to get ready. If I snack it's usually a hot pocket, lunch meat, a bowl of cereal, or a pop tart.
I really don't wanna be underweight because it's very unhealthy, not that I look anorexic (I DON"T SERIOUSLY), I just want to be a normal size. Not to thin, not too fat. My ethnicity seems like biggest disadvantage because I'm Chinese and Chinese people are small.
Question #10:
Can you live off nutrition shakes healthfully?
I'm starting a meal plan to help me put on some muscle weight and the changes I have made make me not even want to eat. The more I stress what I am eating the less I want to eat. I really like these protein shakes I've been making out of enriched vanilla soymilk, carnation instant breakfast, and peanutbutter. I could easily get enough calories, and there are lots of nutrients. What I am curious about is if your body can continue to absorb these unnatural sources of nutrients as a primary source?BTW, I'm not going to do this. I will keep up my the diet I have laid out for myself with some pouting, but I am curious if you can do this and if it as healthy as the nutritional info makes it look?
Question #11:
Is this a good workout plan?
cut out all soda ,cinnamon drink or something (oat meal just something healthy) for breakfest, and snack healthy(vegetable, fruit crackers and peanut butter) ,till dinner will be whatever is cooked plus a salad, TONS of water and green tea all day ,run/walk 2-4 miles in my neiborhood + 20-40 push ups (everyday) wich starts with 10 do a 3 min plank then do another 10 and 3 min plank and then a break and after a bit repeat if i can SO IS THIS A GOOD PLAN?Question #12:

Question #13:
What foods should universities offer to vegetarian students?
I am supposed to go and speak with the food director about vegetarian meal plans, what should I propose? I have my ideas.I know it's my choice. I don't have a problem cooking my own food, but I am forced to pay $700 a semester just eat only 7 meals a week. which means i have to also pay extra money to prepare the other 14 meals I don't get.
I told them, I was a vegetarian and would gladly cook my own food, but they still make me purchase a meal plan.
Question #14:
Recovering from Anorexia...I Feel So Alone Right Now?
I'm 19 years old and have had anorexia since I was about 13. I've been to an inpatient treatment center once, when I was 17, and got up to around 95lbs at 5'4 (my highest weight--I've always been very slim). I maintained that weight for awhile, and I felt much healthier. But this past year has been very stressful for me, with my parent's separation, living situations, etc as well as my OCD/anxiety. Right now, I'm about 82-84lbs (it varies depending on the scale, time of day, etc). I did not lose weight intentionally, I guess I just wasn't eating enough. So now I am only a few lbs more than when I was admitted inpatient last time, only now that I'm 19, I can't be forced to go. I saw a nutritionist about a week ago, and she gave me a meal plan (started me on 1800calories, and I've been adding 250 every 3 days. RIght now, I'm eating about 2450 calories, and it's so hard...I feel absolutely terrible about myself. Part of me wants to gain weight, because I know I'm not healthy and I want my periods back, but then I'll look at myself in the mirror and think I look fine and I'm already too fat. I know logically, that I am not fat, so I don't understand why I can't see how thin the scale says I am. To make things even harder, I've been having terrible stomach pains/bloating, which makes it even harder to eat, but so far, I have been meeting all my calorie goals. I would love to get back up to around 95lbs, but I am terrified of what I will look like and not being able to stop gaining. Sometimes I question whether or not I really even need to gain weight. I have nobody to talk to (no friends, no therapist, and my mom is having some of her own issues right now with alchohol), and I just feel so alone. Am I doing the right thing by eating more and trying to gain? I could just really use some support/advice right now from someone who knows where I'm coming from,
Thanks so much

Question #16:
Need help revising my essay?
If I was able to make a change a positive change in my life. It would start with furthering my education. My dream has always been to follow in my grandmothers footsteps and become a Chef.My Grandmother has always been my inspiration. I have so many fond memories of times spent in her kitchen. I've watched her make wonderful meals from minimal ingredients. I've brought food ideas gathered from time with her into my own kitchen.
My love of cooking is now moving me to learn more and obtain a Culinary Education. I will use the skills obtained to pursue goals which include working in great restaurants with like minded chefs and eventually owning and managing my own establishment.
To succeed in these aspirations, I need the solid foundation of a formal education for everything from the basics to the complex. I have worked in fast-food kitchens and small town cafe's. I now seek more fulfilling work as a chef to build a better life for myself professionally and personally.
After much thought, I know what I am meant to do, and plan to pursue this goal with all that I have. I will start at the beginning and proceed step by step. This process will begin with culinary school.
Question #17:
What kind of exercise do i need to do and how much of it?
Two weeks ago I started dieting with Nature's Sunshine- Nutri-burn protein shake as two meals per day , but the this product works better when drinking it right after working out so I'm planning to join Bally total fitness. What i need to know is what kind of exercise is best and how much of it I should do daily?I weigh 230lbs and am 5'5 and am mostly concerned about my tummy. Of course all of my body needs some work but i want to lose the TUMMY!
Question #18:
What is a good diet plan without counting calories? When will I see results?
I don't have time to plan for six meals a day. I like to just eat when hungry. I hate counting calories, it's too much work.I was thinking of just cutting out all junk and fried foods. Limiting carb portions to the palm of my hand. Eating large portion of veggies to get full. How does this sound? I need to lose about 80 pounds. I will be exercising also. When I focus on calorie counting, it just feels like it consumes my whole life.
Question #19:
Do you have to have a formal sit-down dinner if you are having a wedding at 4 or 5?
In our venue we don't have the room or the budget to have a full course sit down dinner. We can't cut the guest list either we already have a good sized guest list we plan to invite no more than 100 (not because of budget we just don't want all of these people we haven't talked to in years at our wedding). If its an evening wedding is it okay to have croissant sandwiches, different varieties of salads, fresh fruit and veggies and beverages? We thought of soup too but I think that's too messy:( If we do provide soup should we have bread bowls or just regular? It is A LOT cheaper than having a full dinner (instead of being $25+pp just for the main meal it's not going to be any more than $10pp for everything including open bar and soup- if we do it) I think it would be more tacky to have nice dinner options like chicken steak or pasta with not enough room for a full dinner setting. I hate the idea of buffet style. I really want a wedding at night because I think it makes the pictures gorgeous with some regular light some sunset and our dance floor is going to be outside and I like the idea of strung lights. What do you guys think if you were a guest would you be upset? We will have enough food to fill everyone up but is it bad to not have a nice dinner(even though we don't have the room)??Question #20:
Is this a healthy amount to eat?
I am 16 years old and female, is this healthy? Could you suggest some other meal plans please?Breakfast= fruit salad (35 calories)
Lunch= small chicken wholegrain roll (90 calories)
Snack= fat free yoghurt (65 calories)
Tea= rice with chicken, mushroom and tomato sauce (300 calories)
Pudding= fruit salad (25 calories) sultanas (40 calories)
Also, drinking a litre of water, walking for 45 minutes and going to bodystep class for one hour!
Thanks!
