Question #1:
Raw food? Do you think this diet plan is healthy?
On this site it has a sample menu plan, I was thinking during the week i'll eat like this and then on weekends I can cook veggies.Day 1: Monday Morning: 3 pounds (1.4 kg) of watermelon (not seedless).
Afternoon: 2 mangos. 1 avocado. 3 sticks of celery.
Snack: 2 mangos.
Evening: One large lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and green onion salad with one handful of raw sunflower seeds, two avocados, and a fresh-squeezed lemon.
I want to be down 40 pounds in 3 months. Could I acheive that if I stick to this menu? Thanks! :)
Question #2:
Rats: I have some questions?
I have some questions that I can't seem to answer through research. Here's the basics: I'm planning on getting two female rats because I don't want males to fight, and considering females are more active, they seem like a nice choice (and they don't pee as much!). I'm looking into breeders, cages, ect. but I'm not sure about everything and I would like to be completely researched out before I contact a breeder.1. Food dish? (I need one that will attach to the side of the cage so that the rats don't go and tip it over, but I can't find anything. Where did you get yours?)
2. Diet? (I've looked this up, but I want to get some suggestions from actual rat owners before I make any major desicions.)
3. Cage? (So far, I've only found one website and even thats a little iffy. I know that the cage needs to be metal bottomed, and I know it needs to be two sq feet per rat, but there are a lot of diverse cages out there. ALSO: most of the cages I've found have more than one level, but these upper levels all have metal bars as a floor. I know this isn't good for rat feet; is there a way I could put some sort of cusion, or is there a better rat cage I just haven't found yet?)
4. Vet? (Some say you need to have money saved away, some say rats are healthy. I know they're prone to tumors, and that there are a lot of foods that can be toxic, but are there any other common illnesses that I should look out for, and money wise, how much does it cost yearly for these vet checks?)
5. Litter Pan? (There are many differant ways to litter train your rat out there. What do you think is the best technique.)
Toys/Enrichment: I want to make my rats as happy as possible. Do you have any good toy ideas? Unique techniques to keep your rats busy?
7. TRAINING: I can honestly say, I know 0 about rat training. I've gotten a few good tips, but there are some things I would like to train MY rats and I have no idea how.
Coming to a certain ledge when you want to take them out?
NOT peeing on you? (can you do this?)
(okay, like I said, I'm new to this training thing, so I don't really know the kinds of things you'd be able to teach to a rat. Can you tell me about the tricks you've taught YOUR rats and how?)
Thank you!
ps. About the litter pan, I forgot to mention this before but I cannot find a single one online. Any suggestions?

Is this a healthy goal weight for my daughter?
She turned 12 years old not too long ago.. She's approximately 5'1.. (already started her period)she was EXTREMELY athletic up until 5th grade, but she is planning to join 2 organized sports outside of school. Does 80 pounds sound okay? She's 95 now, but she thinks she looks fat and wants to diet. I actually (I didn't tell her though) agree. She gained a LOT of weight recently, and all of her friends are much, much thinner. It's not normal.
Question #6:
What are some meal plans without starch?
I want to cut out starch in my diet, because my face is starting to get round. But, I have no idea what some meals are without or with few amounts of starch! Help would be awesome(:Question #7:
Poll for moms who had gestational diabetes?
1.) How did you control your GDM while you were pregnant (strictly diet, diet and insulin pill, or insulin shot)2.) How many prenatal visits per week did you have to go to to check on your baby
3.) How many weeks ahead was you baby measuring when you found out you had GDM
4.) Did you doctor induce you before your due date and if so how many weeks before your due date. If not did they let you go the full 40 weeks?
5.) Did you have a natural birth or a c-section
6.) How big was your baby when he/she was born
7.) Did your baby have any complications after delivery (jaundice, hypoglycemia, ect)
When I found out I had GDM at 27 weeks my son was measuring 2 weeks ahead and by 34 weeks he was measuring full term at about 7.5lbs
I controlled my GDM with diet at first but I lost 10lbs and my doctor was concerned so he told me to eat normal and gave me the glyburide insulin pill. I still continued to cut all sugary products from my diet.
My doctor originally planned to induce me at 39 weeks but my son decided to come at 38 weeks instead and I had to have a c-section becuase he was breached
When my son was born he weighed 8lbs and 3oz and 19 inches long. My doctor said had I gone all 40 weeks my son probably would have weighed 10lbs
My son was also born with hypoglycemia a.k.a low blood sugar so he had to be feed every hour right after birth to bring his levels up but he was okay after that.
Please share with me your stories. Thanks. ;-)
Doodlestuff, I didn't ask for your opinion. I asked for facts about your birthing experience and pregnancy with GDM, not preexisting diabetes. Since you haven't even had your baby yet this pool doesn't pertain to you. I honestly didn't want to here your little rant about what a bad doctor I had so keep it to yourself next time. k.
Question #8:
Are diet pills ineffective when you take other medication?
I'm on two different types of mood stabilizers right now (Lamictal and Invega) as well as Melatonin at night. If I were to start taking diet pills, would they not work as well (or at all) because of my other medication? As in mixing together in the wrong way?I know a lot of people think that diet pills don't work. Well, the kind I want to take worked for my friend because she had the right diet and exercise. I have a good diet and exercise plan that I've been using so I want to see if these pills help at all.

Question #11:
Can you live off nutrition shakes healthfully?
I'm starting a meal plan to help me put on some muscle weight and the changes I have made make me not even want to eat. The more I stress what I am eating the less I want to eat. I really like these protein shakes I've been making out of enriched vanilla soymilk, carnation instant breakfast, and peanutbutter. I could easily get enough calories, and there are lots of nutrients. What I am curious about is if your body can continue to absorb these unnatural sources of nutrients as a primary source?BTW, I'm not going to do this. I will keep up my the diet I have laid out for myself with some pouting, but I am curious if you can do this and if it as healthy as the nutritional info makes it look?
Question #12:
Is this a good diet plan for me?
Eat like this:Breakfast: Apple if very hungry 1 tablespoon almond butter
Lunch: Large salad with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (braggs) and a zqueeze of lemon.
Add 1/2 cup beans, white fish the size of your palm, chicken the size of your palm or 1 hardboiled egg or 1 egg white
Snack: fruit or veggies or salad
Dinner: Large salad with low fat natural dressing like paul newmans with some protein if desired.
Drink four cups green tea
and 30 minutes cardio daily
And is this diet okay for acne?? I want to clear mine up.
And also how fast do you think I'd lose weight??
Question #13:
Good way to start my diet or not?
OK!I'll wake up and eat breakfast, which will probably be an omelette with two eggs and some onion and a bit of fruit on the side, and a glass of green tea (210 calories)
Then I have to go grocery shopping with me mum, but I will be walking over to a different store while she's doing the actual shopping, and it's about a 15 minute walk in the sun, and I live in AZ, so it's 100+ degrees while walking. I'll keep water on me during this time. And then I have to walk back and walk around the store while we're shopping, so it's 30+ minutes of walking.
Come home, take care of groceries, eat some lunch. Lunch will probably be a Morning Star chicken pattie (140) on whole wheat bagel (110) with some lettuce, and 1/2 serving of low fat mozzarella cheese (40 calories) and more green tea.
I'll probably relax some after lunch......and the maybe do my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD.
Eat dinner, which is salad and Morning Star chicken or salad and tofu, and fruit afterwards.
I'll surely drink 2 - 3 liters of water, too.
Sound like a good start?
**This is my basic plan, but I can't walk every day like that (personal reasons, not allowed out of the house) but I do 10 minutes of cardio with my DVD and I dance 20 minutes, too**
P.S - I'm a vegetarian, Morning Star is an all vegetarian brand!
Question #14:
People who raised their kids vegan?
OK, first of all, please don't tell me it's stupid or unhealthy. I've done a lot of research on the pros and cons, the reasons, the concerns and benedits, of a vegan diet and lifestyle. If I become pregnant, I plan on seeing a R.D. to ensure I'm getting everything. I've been vegan a while now, continue to run cross-country and distance track, and feel healthier than ever- so don't tell me what to do. Ok? Thanks. So, when I have kids, I definitely plan on raising them vegan. I have a couple questions for vegan parents
-what do you do for halloween?
-what do you do when your child's invited to birthday parties?
For halloween, I think I'll host a big Halloween party with vegan candies, bat cookies, pumpkins, cupcakes, etc, every year with my kids so they don't feel totally left out.
For birthday parties, do you just pack a lunch? I'm assuming you contact the host beforehand, how do they usually react?
OK, thanks for any help :)

Question #16:
needs to lose 30 pounds in order to have needed surgery?
my father needs to have surgery due to his cancer. in order to have the surgery he needs to lose at least 30 pounds. my family eats healthy dinners and we rarely have take out. he has a full time job and doesnt get much exercise at work other than some walking here and there. he has some heart problems so some extreme exercises may be too much on his heart. what are some healthy ways to help him lose this including a diet and exercise plan. i would really appreciate itQuestion #17:
Help an obese girl with exercise?
**I cannot go outside and run because I live in a really dangerous neighborhood, I don't go to public school and I can't go to a gym, participate in sports, martial arts, etc etc. I can only exercises INDOORS**I wanna lose 20 - 30 pounds and gain some muscle tone, lose my cellulite and get in pretty good shape by the end of this year. This is a lifestyle change, not just a diet plan either. I'm 5'2" and 140 pounds. I wanna be 110 - 117 by the New Year.
For exercise, here's my plan:
1. This may sound silly, but my sibling and I like to pretend we're performing on stage like a band or something, and we just sing along to songs, but I do alot of running, jumping and dancing. It;s usually about an hour to an hour and 20 mins we do that, and I don't jump and stuff the whole time, I gotta catch my breath a little and all.......so it's probably around 20 - 45 minutes of that.....(it's fun so I'm more likely to do it and not get too bored or anything) ----- I do that about 3 - 5 times a week
------------------------------------
And then after dinner I do my Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD. I'm going to do every level or 2 weeks, not just 10 days. I may do level 1 for less than that because it's a lot easier and I don't want to be wasting time. And then If 10 minutes on my treadmill or sometimes 10 minutes of stair walking, sprinting up the stairs, and walking back down. I do this if I have enough time to, and I'm gonna try to do that extra cardio every other night, along side a ten minute strength routine, mostly pilates to tone my muscles and hopefully get rid of some of this cellulite!
I also do chores, some dancing, and I wrestle with my sister sometimes, too.
Is this enough to lose weight?
And yes, I have a good diet already

Question #20:
Other motivations to work out & eat healthy besides "looking hot"?
Over recent years, I used to be able to stay on top of my diet & exercise plan much better, because I thought "looking hot" would help me in the dating world. But now, its starting to dawn on me that my face is well below average, so its not really ever going to help. I have been letting myself go, and it makes me feel even worse about my appearance. However, I can keep my bmi at a healthy level without all the extra work, which fits into my busy schedule better. I need different kinds of motivation to put in the extra effort. Logically, it actually makes more sense to do what I'm doing now, but I'm not really satisfied with that. Yet, I can't seem to find the motivation to do it, either.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
