Question: Noticed bones in cat's feces?

Answer #1:
You really shouldn't give the cats any bones at all. Just try to cut around them. It's nice that you want to give them a good diet, but the bones could possibly kill them.Answer #2:
Do you eat the bones in your food when your eating meat? You should probably start just taking the bone out completely.. I doubt having bones going through their digestive system is doing any good. I'd say be wise, and don't take any risks. Better safe than sorry.Answer #3:
You should never give your cat chicken bones, when broken down the splinters of the chicken bones can either get stuck in the throat or cause cuts inside the stomach. Bones will not break down in the digestive system and thats why the bones are still in the stools. Just try taking the meat away from the bone next time and make sure you give the cat some rice with the meat. Even though you want to give your cat a raw diet they wont get all the necessary vitamins. I feed my dog on Prescriptions chicken and rice which I buy from the vets and in it it has all the necessary vitamins. Make sure though that there is always lots of water available instaed of milk as milk can cause diahrrea and mucus in any animal.Answer #4:
It is normal to see some bone fragments in the feces of a raw fed cat.Don't cut the pieces smaller, it won't make a difference. Cats don't chew the way we do. With bones, gristle and tough meat, they sort of gnaw with their side teeth until whatever they are eating is the appropriate size to swallow and not until it is a masticated mush as we humans do.
It is natural that some of the bone pieces they swallow will not be completely broken down by the cats stomach acid (HCl) and other digestive juices. If you examine the stool of wild carnivores you will see a large volume of undigested matter like bone and hair. Normal. Way it's supposed to be.
Answer #5:
Raw chicken bones will not hurt the cat. If the cat can chew them into small enough pieces to swallow, they will pass through the cats digestive system.NO COOKED BONES, THOUGH.
My outdoor cats eat whole live mice, gophers and birds. In two years there has never been any issue with them passing the undigested fragments of raw bone. In fact, they rarely pass any bone at all. As your cats digestive systems get more used to their new diet they will digest the bones better.
Answer #6:
dont give bones to eat unless cooked to mush like the germans do** Powered by Yahoo Answers
