You have to have a lot of willpower, and if you want to lose 30 pounds, you have to say goodbye to junk food and welcome the healthy food. You should never overeat, meaning more than your daily caloric needs. And what helps a lot is exercise. Even if you might hate it. Just keep telling yourself that you love it and you will grow to love it. And you need to start counting calories. You'd be surprised how the everyday items we eat adds up to quite a lot of calories. Even the healthy food like yogurt and a cup of milk(which is around 120 calories per cup). If you only cut off your caloric intake, it won't really work because your body will eventually hit a plateau and you will lose weight at an extremely slow pace. Exercising keeps your metabolism up, as far as my experience goes.
